What Do They Measure? Comparing
Three Learning Outcomes
Assessments

Jeffrey Steedle, Heather Kugelmass, and
Alex Nemeth
We are happy to announce the publication of
"What Do They Measure? Comparing Three
Learning Outcomes Assessments" in the
July/August issue of
Change Magazine. The
article, written by CLA measurement scientist Dr.
Jeffrey Steedle and program managers Heather
Kugelmass and Alex Nemeth, clarifies some
misconceptions about the findings of a Test
Validity Study. The Test Validity Study was
designed to examine the relationships between
the scores produced by three popular
standardized assessments that offer value-added
reporting—the Collegiate Learning Assessment,
the Collegiate Assessment of Academic
Proficiency, and the ETS Proficiency Profile.
The article can be found online
here.
